New York’s Central Upstate Region is home to a diverse
collection of educational institutions, research centers,
and businesses independently recognized for their succ-
esses in the development of green technology and
methods of sustainability. The region funds over 1.2
billion dollars in research and development, much of it
aimed at solutions to environmental degradation.
The AMOS Project is an effort to collectively capture the
stories of these cutting edge organizations, and share
them with the world in an effort to attract new business
development and economic growth for the Central
Upstate region.
The project headquarters itself is an example of environ-
mentally-friendly urban renewal; a commercial space built
to LEED Gold Certified standards, inside a 130-year old
Erie Canal-era building in the center of Downtown Syracuse.
